Return of the grid and stack view please?

I'm a long time Evernote user in varying degrees. I miss the view of the collapsable stacks and grid that was lost in 2017. Until now that hasn't been a deal-breaker for me, however I am ramping up my Evernote use as a GTD tool using the Forte Labs system and I hate the huge amount of wasted space that the list view now gives.

It's very counter intuitive and for the first time in many years I find myself look at alternatives to Evernote, which saddens me.

Do you have any plans to revive this or even offer users a chance to configure their own layout?

It's important to know as if now, I will have to probably migrate away. That would be a shame, especially if a change for the better may be forthcoming?

Which platform are you referring to? Windows? Mac? Android? iOS? Web? What it "grid view"? (WIndows has Card view, but no Grid view). What is "stack view"?

Notebooks?  
I recall the wailing back when the notebook grid view was dropped on the Mac platform

Personally, I have minimal notebooks.  
I have hundreds of tags; I would actually prefer a single column list view

Also, I'll look at the Forte Labs system but I don't see a connection with grid view and GTD
