upload limit is not reseted

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i uploaded by accident some notes I didn`t want to uplaod. As a consequence my monthly upload limit of 60 MB was used. Normally the upload limit is no problem for me. At my desktop installation the number of days remaining in the month period was displayed. First it was about 21 days remaining, so I waited until 0 days rremaining were displayed. But even after waiting two days more I couldn' synchronize my account. See screenshot below:

Then I checked in evernote online and there was displayed in teh account summary:

"60 MB (100 %) remaining in this month
Your monthly contingent wiil be reseted in 26 days."

This cannot be correct,  I waited already 21 days and now I shall wait for another 26 days. A month cannot have more than 31 days. And the display of my desktop evernote shows 0 days remaining. As i never use up the limit normally I will not update to premium.

Thanks for help in advance

Hi.  The information you see on local devices can only be an estimate of the current position - Evernote's server keeps the controlling count.  You say your current status was "60 MB (100 %) remaining in this month" - which means the local device is incorrect.  Try restarting your computer to verify the situation.

Hello thanks for replying. I restarted the desktop application but it didn't solve the problem. That the counter of the desktop application is incorrect doesn't explain how after waiting 21 days the remaining days until reset on the server was still 26 days. 21 + 26 = 47 days. That is much more than a month.

Hmmn.  The account limit gets 'reset' every month on the day the account was first set up,  and if you exceed the limit in one month your notes may not fully upload until the next month,  so you will use up a portion of that month's allowance by those 'overflow' notes syncing before anything new gets added.  Your desktop estimates the amount of space left based on the traffic it handles in one month - but it can't account for editing you may do on another device,  or the fact that you have a lot of items in Trash that might be restored and resynced at some point.

To take the Trash out of the equation,  try clearing the trash notebook on your desktop and on your web account.  And if that doesn't help you might want to investigate Local Notebooks.  These are notes that remain solely on your desktop,  and are not synced to the cloud.

Worst case - you may want to subscribe for a month or two (if that's possible) until your limits are sorted out.

Problem solved, I had a lot of duplicated notes in my trash. That was the reason that my limit was my limit was immediatley used up at the start of the next month period. I now emptied the trash and all new notes were synchronized then.
