Quick note could not be saved

Whenever I use the "clip window" or "Clip full screen" function in the Evernote-Helper and press save to evernote, I get a pop-up window with "Quick note could not be saved".  

Any idea how to fix this?

I have tried uninstalling / restart / reinstalling several times, as well as deleting the quick-note file in `~/Library/Group Containers/Q79WDW8YH9.com.evernote.Evernote/Evernote/`.

The computer is a MacBookPro with 10.12.6.

@luki_b did you get any resolution to this? I have tried the instructions from a 2017 post (linked) to no avail.  your request is the most recent request I've found so disappointed to not see any replies
