(Archived) Different types of tags? (#, !, @, etc)

Hi, I'm wondering what is with the different types of tags in Evernote, like #tag, @tag, !tag, and so on. I can't seem to find any information about that by searching.

There are no different types of tags intrinsically handled differently in Evernote. Any meaning imputed to tags with special prefix characters is purely on the user end. And you should beware that tag names with special prefix characters may not be handled uniformly by all Evernote applications (including tags in email subjects and search).

Very good point, Jeff.

I have tried to locate the definitive answer on what is valid and what is not when using tags.

This sort of information should be available on the on-line Help and Documentation PDF.
