Email Forwards to the same "non-default" Notebook

The email link address  is supposed to send an email to my designated "default" Notebook. I have my default Notebook specified and the email forwarding insists on sending it to another Notebook - always the same one. I am not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. Could it be that I established the email forward with the other Notebook as default and when I changed the default Notebook that the email forwarding cannot track that default change. Please advise on how I should fix this to forward emails to my default Notebook.

Hi.  If you have a note forwarding rule set up somewhere,  and can specify the email title,  you can specify which notebook the email goes into,  and which tags and reminders are attached...

Except when email auto filing is enabled in personal settings

Thanks Gazumped and DTlow - the problem was in fact that I had "Autofiling" set on my email forwarding preferences - once I turned that off everything went to my default Notebook.
