PLEASE HELP My files are gone

Hello,

Please excuse my étiquette, as I am new to the forum, but I come in desperation.  Here is my situation:

I updated Evernote in September/October (I can't remember) but once I signed in all of my precious notes were gone from my desktop application and online account. I have spent hours trying to get my notes back. So, when I search for the notes, they show up in my finder (I have attached a picture below) but they are only in .enml format.

 

 

 

If I try to drag them to evernote, they just appear as blank documents (photo attached), and I can open them in text edit.

Could someone please help me get these notes back to my evernote? I would be so grateful.
