Would be useful to be able to hide the note preview in Top List View so that the notes list takes up the entire screen.

You can adjust the list panel size so it uses a large portion of the screen

Yes, you can expand the list panel to about 80% of the screen, but it would still be nice to be able to hide the preview pane completely.

My use case is often browse a notebook with Cards view enabled, and not being able to hide the note preview is so annoying. I am quite familiar in general with what each note is about in my collection so I don't need to constantly preview them. If I need to read one, I would double click on that note to get a new window with that.
Please, bring that option back! I am avoiding the upgrade to the new client on my main machine because of that. This is on macOS.

I completely concur. It used to work this way, and now that it doesn't, it is super annoying to have to surrender screen space in order to see the note you can see much better by double clicking to open. The preview pane ends up serving no purpose other than to be obnoxious.
