iPad Handwriting Gets Lost When Switching Apps

Recommended Posts

I found a pretty nasty bug that I can recreate:

  1. Create a new note on my iPad.
  2. Tap the pen to use my Pencil to hand write some notes.
  3. Don't hit "Done" when finished, instead switch to a different app (i.e. Mail to look up something. It really doesn't matter which app).
  4. Go back to Evernote, and the handwriting is gone… it's a blank new note.
  5. Cry.

There's other reports regarding no auto-save on the sketch feature

This is not a feature I use.  My recommendation for note-taking on the iPad is the Notability app.  I save the document as a note attachment file

There's a feature request linked below
