This started 2019/07/01 - images in my notes are not being indexed
I opened Ticket# 2871769 and will report the results

I'm thinking this is an OCR failure at the server level

Is anyone else having their images indexed
The status is reported in the note details1068663280_ScreenShot2019-07-03at22_35_58.png.f9b07d4669e3d166f8f90c3956e49d90.png

edit: 2019/07/10  Images are being indexed within minutes

Just tried it:

  • Created a note
  • Drag & Drop of a Screenshot, sync => not indexed
  • Added title plus one line of text into the note itself, sync => indexed

If it was indexed because the text was added, or just needed the time it took me to type some words I do not know.

At least on my Mac, indexing seems to work.

After doing some more digging, it appears our development team is now aware of the longer-than-normal wait times for images to be indexed. Your helpful details helped them get this reproduced. Since the images are also being backlogged, the same would apply for PDFs to be made searchable by the different PDF document processing rendering that is also processed by the service.

This is a high-priority issue for the development teams, but I don't have an estimate on when to expect this to be fixed since the issue will need to be resolved, then previously queued files be made indexed/searchable first. It does look like it can be upwards of a day (and possibly up to a week as you've experienced before) to return results, but they are working at returning this to the previously normal wait-times as soon as possible.
