Veekdeveek 3
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows a way to connect gmail and evernote in such a way that: - when assigning a certain LABEL within gmail, this poses as a trigger to automatically copy or forward said email message to my evernote account (to a specific notebook possibly with a specific evernote tag). A quick search on IFTTT did not yield any results. Does anybody have suggestions? Regards, Veek Link to comment

Did a quick web search and got 61M hits for variations on 'send gmail to Evernote' from https://www.harryonline.net/evernote/send-google-mail-to-evernote/226 to https://zapier.com/learn/google-sheets/google-apps-script-tutorial/ - Zapier also offer IFTTT-like options to automate connections to Evernote from other apps. (Your access may depend on which OS and device you're using.) 1 Link to comment

chronistin 188
That is interesting, I had this scenario running a while ago via ifttt, but now, gmail doesn't turn up as a trigger. I wonder what changed? As has been said, Zapier can do that. Link to comment

Level 5* gazumped 12,068 Posted July 2, 2019 Level 5* Share Posted July 2, 2019 Just a final (maybe) comment here - I had a run-in with Gmail over the last couple of days - was trying to forward emails to Evernote using my account email address. Long story short I identified some classes of email that I could just forward by setting up a filter in Gmail. However there's a caveat in the setup process that 'old emails will not be forwarded'. That means new emails to the account will be captured on the way in, and can be forwarded and then processed in other ways or deleted. But if you find a body of emails already received - or if you apply a label to an existing email in your inbox - that will not be sent onwards. Just sayin'. Link to comment
bounce 74
Yea, there’s a rate limit for EN mails and third-party API’s for this kind of stuff. Seems to remember something like 30 per hour for email and something like that for ifttt. I once took a lot of time to route a bunch of gmail to Evernote via ifttt, then deleted the email. Only to later find out they weren’t all routed (there were no you’ve gone over the iftt limit notifications back then). Next time, I’m thinking some kludgy work around like gmail to Thunderbird export to html to Evernote just so I know they get there. Link to comment

Regards, Veek I had exactly this setup in IFTTT, but they removed most of the gmail integrations from IFTTT in May when Google changed their policy around 3rd party integrations (to do with privacy). This use to work awesomely well for me, and I can't seem to recreate it in Zapier. An automation recipe is listed for this in Zapier (https://zapier.com/app/editor/76053585?simple=true), but I always get a result in evernote that is raw text with all of the HTML markdown and no images or layout. This makes it pretty much useless to me. I haven't been savvy enough to be able to fix this - would love some help? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,068 Posted January 18, 2020 Level 5* Share Posted January 18, 2020 I'm currently using the freemium product Filterize to manage my Evernote account. While Filterize does provide individual "send to Evernote" adddresses* for each individual notebook, I found it such a pain to set up a separate forwarding address in Gmail each time that I now simply forward all selected Gmail mails to my default notebook**. Filterize triggers on keywords in the title or body of the email and reassigns that note to the correct notebook, plus adding any necessary tags. Once set up, this is entirely transparent to me - I just process the notes as I find them! * might be a subscription-only feature... ** this is kind've an iterative process. The first time I set this up I went through my account and used the Evernote Gmail Clipper add-in to send important mails to Evernote. Then I set up the Gmail forwarding for those emails plus the Fiilterize process within Evernote to allocate them to the right notebook and add tags. Now I go through my (much smaller) Gmail inbox to see what's left after those emails have been processed, and do the forwarding / filter process for any other relevant emails that remain. Currently there's little to do with my inbox except deal with spam... Link to comment
burbigo1 1
I didn't know about the existence of this freemium product called Filterize I'll try that to manage my evernote account, thanks. TweakBox Tutuapp 1 Link to comment
