Grouping and Archiving of tags

I would like a way to archive (or hide) tags I no longer use. It would also be useful to be able to group tags together, for example, where they relate to a project or a particular business. Within a single Evernote account I have several different businesses and it takes a while to find the right tags for each one when they are all displayed together in a long list. Maybe the ability to create a sub-tag?

My grouping/subtag process is to prefix the tag names.
For example Budget tags: Budget-Food, Budget-Utilities, Budget-Entertainment ....

My archive process is to prefix obsolete notebooks/tags with an x
For example Budget-xBoating
They still appear in their groups, but sort to the bottom where they're more easily ignored.

On the Windows platform you can create tag hierarchies.  They don’t carry over to IOS however.

Thanks for the suggestion. How do you do this?

Thanks for the suggestion. It is a half way house for what I would really like for archiving (for them not to show at all unless you click on something like 'archived tags')

Drag and drop.  Right click on Tags in the left panel and select show tags view.  Then drag a tag onto another to make it a child or under the parent to add the child.  Try a couple and you will get the hang of it.

Tag hierarchy is also a Mac feature; with a tag tree in the sidebar.

I make use of the feature, however as you posted, not displayed in IOS.
Also not displayed in all the Mac tag lists
