Trying to use Evernote onEl Capitan mac

Hi, I'd be grateful for some help.

I am (was?) intending to use Evernote in conjunction with Fujitsu's S1300i scanSnap scanner. However the mac uses El Capitan 10.11.6 and cannot be upgraded further, so is incompatible with the currently available Evernote download. Can I download an older version of Evernote and still get the benefits of a Premium account (i.e. OCR with Pdfs as well as images?
