(Archived) How to search for all posts with no tags

The subject line says it all. How do I search for all untagged notes?

Also -- at least for the Windows client -- you can put it into List view, and sort on the Tags column. Tagless entries will float to the beginning or end of the list, depending on which way the sort is going.

Still not getting it:

- Mac client, no tags column to sort on

- Where do I put "-tag:*" ? It putting it in search does not work.

The -tag feature is very powerful for checking your notes for missing specific tags.

50% of my notes are political in nature, so I keep them in my Politics notebook. Periodically, I will run the following search:

notebook:Politics "Harry Reid" -tag:"Reid Harry"

This will find any note that contains Harry Reid, but is not tagged Reid Harry.

Another example:

notebook:Politics "White House" -tag:"White House"
