Accidentally delete note search bar

I'm on Mac OS, Evernote Version 7.5.2.

I notice that when I use the search bar, and type "Cmd+del", it will delete the whole note. What I intended was simply to remove the text in search bar ("Cmd+del" is a default short-cut in Mac OS). This is a very annoying feature, as I have to constantly go to Trash and recover the accidentally deleted notes.

I'm hoping to see improvement for a better user experience at this.

My experience is Cmd+del deletes the line; it does not delete the note.
I used System Preferences to change the Evernote shortcut
