syd 0
I'm using v 7.7 and just noticed that if I open an attachment in my Evernote db a copy is made in a hidden folder in my Documents folder. I think this has just started because I've only got 7 documents there (I have thousands in Evernote). Does anyone know what this folder is for? Link to comment

The "external-edits" folder is used while you're using an attachment file wirh an external app. It's supposed to be temporary and files deleted when you're finished. However, Evernote is not always aware when you're finished, so there are remnants. Link to comment

As long as the attachments are not opened in an external application (i.e. filling out a PDF in Acrobat Pro), you're good to go. Link to comment
