Which version did you have before the update, and what is the version number of the update? If you don't mind, what is your general location? I'm on v. 6.16.4, and Evernote tells me it's the current version, no updates available. That's in Georgia (USA), but updates may roll out to different places at different times. None of which may directly help with your problem! Have you tried rebooting the computer? Link to comment
