Option to set number of spaces for tab, or to use tabs instead of spaces

I don't know if Evernote has been doing this for a while now, or if it's relatively recent, but when I press tab, I get 4 spaces rather than a tab.

Would it be possible to get an option to specify how many spaces = 1 tab, and also an option to use tabs instead of spaces? Maybe I'm a code heathen because I prefer tabs but I'd love to have the option.
