How to update from old data restore without making Evernote data downlevel

I just recovered my system drive with one from a year ago.  Evernote comes up with old data.  I am reluctant to click on SYNC for fear of overlaying the current data with the downlevel data now on my restored PC.  What is the process to bring it up to current data level without erasing more recent data?

Evernote is quite robust in identifying new/old data.  I don't think you'll have a problem.

If you're really concerned, you can delete your database and force a complete rebuild.
