"Simplify formatting" a note without removing all the "highlight" within

“Simplify formatting” would retain styles such as Bold or Strikethrough, but not Highlight. Is it possible to "simplify formatting" a note without removing all the "highlight" within? Thank you!

This would be great. Simplify formatting should only remove the formatting like fonts / etc. that were from the original website / article, and retain the formatting that users applied - such as bold / underlines / strikethrough and yes HIGHLIGHT.

Another thing: for me, "simplify formatting" also tends to crash the entire program fairly often.

Somehow retaining formatting only the user has made would be helpful, not holding my breath on it happening soon though.
