Can Evernote OCR index a folder of 1000 jpg images of scanned docs?

Recommended Posts

Can Evernote OCR index a folder of 1000 jpg images of scanned docs?  The images are mostly typewritten.  Some PDFs are there, but mostly JPGs.

If so, can someone outline the steps for doing this? (or link me to a page that outlines this exact process).  I have Fujitsu's ScanSnap, if that helps.  Thanks for any help.

I don't see a problem; just import the images to Evernote as note attachments. In Windows/Mac the easiest process is an import folder.

Be aware that Evernote's OCR process is for search process only.  You do not end up with OCR'd documents

Theres information at https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314518-How-Evernote-makes-text-inside-images-searchable

Can you recommend a software that can OCR thousands of images of text and index them?

My longtime software choice is PDF OCR X (Mac/Windows); It's not expensive and does the job.
It OCRs images, separate files or embedded in a pdf.  In a pdf, it overlays the image and the text.

As for indexing data contents; I use Evernote ?
Mac OS also maintains an index for Spotlight searching.
