Unable to create a new notebook

Hi, 

I'm unable to create a new notebook. The "New Notebook" under the File menu is greyed out.

Please advise. Thanks! ?

Evernote version 7.2

macOS High Sierra 10.13.5

Any chance you reached the notebook limit; 250 for personal accounts

Yes. The notebook limit of 250 has been reached. 

What are the steps to consolidate several notebooks into one notebook? Thanks in advance.

Hi.  My general process for emptying a notebook is pretty simple.

On a desktop...

• click on notebook name to select it
• select all notes
• apply notebook name as a new tag
• move notes to existing notebook
• delete empty notebook
• if necessary,  choose another notebook to empty...

It's also possible to export notes rather than just tag them,  possibly to then delete the originals and import the copies into a new (free) Basic Archive account

Select the notes; you can use Select All; a mass change box is displayed
Assign tag   NB-aaaaaaa to preserve the notebook name
Move notes to the consolidated notebook.
