Able to edit in mobile; unable to edit on desktop

I cannot get to the edit window for any note on my desktop app.  Cannot even see the content.

Everything works normally on mobile (iphone). Can create a new note on mobile and have it sync to desktop.  However, cannot see the content or access the edit space of the note window.

I can't quite picture what's happening, but it sounds like a bad problem. If you haven't yet, I'd try these steps, in order, till one of them works (sync your notes before you do this if you've made any changes; or don't sync if you're afraid there are corruptions that you don't want to propagate):

1. Quit Evernote completely, not just by clicking the red X box in the top right corner (which only closes the interface window): File menu > Exit; or right-click the Evernote icon in the taskbar notification area, then select Quit Evernote.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Uninstall Evernote and reinstall it. It will download all your notebooks and notes from the Evernote servers (this can take awhile).
