FrankEMundo 0
I have a notebook with 1850 relatively large notes. Entering search argument in search field bogs down to a crawl after three characters are entered Link to comment
Level 5* DTLow 5,744 Posted May 28, 2018 Level 5* Share Posted May 28, 2018 Which device/platform? I have over 12,000 notes (Mac/iPad) with little impact. My preference is to use tag searches. Text searches have more complications. Link to comment
FrankEMundo 0
My notes are very long and most are articles, PDF etc. The issue is that Evernote is starting an incremental search after first couple of letters. If I create the search argument externally to Evernote and simply "cut and paste" it into the search field (for example, Intitle:"frank mundo" the search proceeds very fast. What is needed is an option in settings to not initiate the search until user hits ENTER or clicks out of the search field. Link to comment
Level 5* CalS 5,308 Posted May 28, 2018 Level 5* Share Posted May 28, 2018 If on Windows go to Tools - Options - Search and set Search as you type delay to 50 or 100 and search won't start until that lag in typing occurs. If you want to hit enter to search set to a high value, or I think counter intuitively, to 0. Link to comment
