Feature Request: Keyboard Shortcut to Close a Note

RG2018

Idea

I have searched for a keyboard shortcut to close a note, but have not found one.  Especially when using a laptop, this feature would be helpful.  I can open a note and do many other things with the keyboard, but to close it I have to move the mouse up to the corner.

For a note in a separate window, just use the Escape key (Esc).

For notes in the main window, the current note is almost always displayed (either to the left of the note list, or underneath in the case of list view), with two exceptions that I know of:

  • the Tags View. You use Ctrl+Alt+T to enable/disable Show Tags View
  • Note multiselect view: if you select more than one note in your note list, then the multi-select pane appears, which allows you to do buld operations on a set of notes (Move, merge, share, create table of contents note, etc.)

For that matter, the standard Windows "close current window" shortcut Allt_F4 works in the separate note window as well. But Esc is easier to hit...
