Latest Web Clipper: notebooks not searchable anymore

The latest update removed a functionality that I used constantly – there used to be a search field where you could type the name of a notebook and it would allow you to quickly select the desired notebook. Now it's just a dropdown, and I have dozens of notebooks organized in multiple folders so every time Evernote does not guess correctly I find myself scrolling through a long list of notebooks to find the right one. It was much faster the old way :(

Hi.  Evernote recently updated the Clipper app for Chrome and changed some functionality.  Some users have gone back to a previous version using these instructions which restores the expected behaviour.  Evernote say they're working to bring back missing features.

They haven't fixed it  - the option to search is now available again but it doesn't work at all - for example I have a number of folders entitled chris.... etc. - Evernote search in the clipper isn't picking up ANY of them

you're totally right, I meant to come back to comment that it is incredibly un-intelligent in finding notebooks. I think it is case-sensitive, and it cannot find text in the middle of a notebook name, it has to be exactly typed as the name is.

Whyyyyyy is it case sensitive??

Lots of posts on this - it got broke,  they fixed it;  it's a fix-in-process...  (make sure you have the latest version of the clipper,  or step back to a previous one)

What's the latest version available? Here I'm on 7.1.0 and I keep seeing the same problems on searching my notebooks.

  • Case sensitive
  • The correct order of the words (Notebook name: "Project XYZ", if I look for XYZ, it doesn't appear any notebook, just if I search for Project first..)

Sounds like you have the latest version,  but uninstalling and reinstalling from your browser store will doublecheck that you have the most up to date version.  If you want to consider rolling it back,  this thread has the story...

Well, I already did it and the search is still very bad.

I have to write the name of the notebooks exactly how it's written in the application.

Thanks anyway, gonna take a look at the thread.
