Jonathan McK 1
After attempting an upgrade, which I do regularly, this time it failed and prompted me to download. I downloaded the build 7.1 for Mac OS X and chose to replace. It will not open, saying the Evernote app is damaged. I then used AppCleaner to totally remove all Evernote artifacts from my hard drive, including the app and the database. After completing that, I downloaded a new install and am seeing the same error. My notes are synced to the cloud, but what gives with 7.1? Is it a bad build? Link to comment
Level 5* DTLow 5,736 Posted April 23, 2018 Level 5* Share Posted April 23, 2018 V7.1 is working for me. Maybe a Mac reboot is required. Link to comment

elementnineteen 0
For me fixing this was as easy as going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and temporarily setting "Allow apps downloaded from:" to "anywhere." Link to comment
Mark Miller 27
This is a known Apple issue reported here which affects OS X El Capitan 10.11 users. This issue is resolved in OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Update the software on your Mac or download and install the OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Update. Link to comment
CJCarson 0
@Mark Miller What about those of us who aren't able to install that update? I downloaded the 10.11.6 update and received a message during installation that my computer isn't compatible with the update (I'm currently at Mac OS 10.11.3). I'm not sure why I can't do the Mac update since my computer specs seem to be fine based on Apple's requirements, so is it possible to use Evernote without updating my Mac OS? Link to comment
Mark Miller 27
@CJCarson Unfortunately, this is an Apple issue. I suggest contacting Apple to see if they can help you. Link to comment
