Possible to have notebook specific sort orders in view pane?

Is there a way to have notebook specific sort orders in the view pane? If not, does anyone else think this would be a useful feature?

Notebook specific sort sequence is a feature on the Windows platform; so I'm expecting it will  appear on Macs eventually.

I have few notebooks, and am more interested in specific sort sequence for my saved searches.  
I have implemented this on my Mac using a script instead of shortcuts; I get the query and sort sequence.

I moved this discussion to the Feature  Request forum and added my vote.
