Encryption not work

i have in the past encrypted individual text items with a password.. Now when I retrieve them I cannot get them to re-encrypt (command is grayed out). Very frustrating.

For encrypted text you have two options
1.  show encrypted text
2. decrypt text permanently

If you select option 1. show encrypted text, the text is still encrypted.  There is no need to re-encrypt it

I've noticed that encryption is more restrictive than prior - strictly text-only.  No bullets, numbering, checkboxes tolerated.

Old notes containing encrypted checkboxes are no longer functional though a static image of former status remains.

Hutton's "grayed out" ENC option likely reflects impermissible content in selected "text".

I am a paying customer and encryption is not working.  I am on a Mac.  Does not work on my ipad.  I am on a desktop.  

When I right click everything is deleted. 

When I click on Edit, Encrypt is Grayed OUT.

Please advise.
