VijayS 1
Is there a way to see the hidden characters in a note? Like microsoft word? The reason I ask, is because I have a note that I've been using as an audio log, but the entries don't appear each on a different line, instead they all seem to be on one line. Trying to edit it and making each entry one line, makes it go wonky and loose the audio notes. And I can't even revert the notes, so wanted to see if I could find the hidden newlines and make it consistent. Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,589 Posted December 28, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted December 28, 2017 In the Windows client: if you export to Evernote format (File / Export... / "Export as a file in ENEX format"), then you'll get a .enex file that you can edit, and then re-import. When editing it, you need to remember that you are essentially editing HTML, and newline characters don't result in newlines in the displayed note; you'll need to use
or
or
elements to do that. As per @jefito, In the Mac platform, you can skip the export step. The notes content can be accessed using a text editor; the filename is content.enml Link to comment
VijayS 1
Thanks! The issue on my end was i had an older version, updating to the latest version stopped the errors with the audio file and i was able to just edit the note and fix it myself. Thank you for your insights though. They will help future visitors. Link to comment
