I've just tried the new platform Coda.io. It has a feature called tables that lets you create tables as a database with different type of content per column (date, checkbox, etc).
Once you have a table with data it allows you to create different views with filters over the data on the table.
All is integrated in a text document format.
If Evernote had this feature it would mean, in a lot of cases, saying goodbye to Excel and having all in Evernote finally.
