Old employer email/Evernote updating

Hello,  I have an Evernote account that was originally set up with an email associated with my old employer. My employer still has access to that email, obviously as it is owned by them. My question is, can they gain access to my Evernote account? I can't reset the password as the notification and instructions to do so still would go to that email and then ex employer would have link to change password and access my account. I'd like this information as it is all personal info business ideas, etc.

They would only have access to the account by specifying   email and password

Go into your account settings and changed the email
