Evernote file size

My Mac shows 42GB of disk space as "Other."  I suspect that some of this may well be my 3K+ notes in Evernote.  Is there a way to determine the file size of my Evernote on my Mac?  I have 120GB hard drive, and I am trying to free up disk space.

Have you identified your database folder
(option key and Help > Troubleshooting > Open Database Folder)

Right click on this folder and select Get Info

Depends on the Evernote version; try Evernote > About, then press the Option key

I have found the following.  Evernote 8.5.ipa in an iTunes folder.  The file size is 125.4 MB.  I've also found in Mac HD/Applications a file of 134 MB.

Yes, that is the Evernote app.  I'd be more concerned with the space required for your data

I'm sorry.  I'm not sure that I understand your concern.  Should I keep my database on an external hard drive?  Any help most appreciated.  I've got a long road ahead to getting everything in order, so any words of wisdom would be helpful.  Thanks!

You started this discussion with a concern that your data was contributing to the 42GB "Other".  I was helping you locate your Evernote data

@Sue17 You have to Open Evernote Application. Then press & hold the Option key. While held down, you can then click on Help. See the screenshot that @DTLow posted. From there a Finder window will open up your database folder. From there you can right click on the database folder and Get Info to see how much space the Evernote database is taking up.

I'm running into the same issue wherein I have a growing database and limited disk space. I tried uninstalling/deleting Evernote, but it will re-download everything once you re-install it again.

Evernote on the Mac platform does not give a selective download option; we get the full database.

afaik   The only option is to offload large file attachments.  These files can be stored on an external or cloud drive, with a link in the note.

The actual notes require minimal disk space.  I don't think this is causing your space problem

A clean reinstall is a good idea.  The app AppCleaner is recommended to delete the app and associated files.  As you noted, the database will be rebuilt from the server.  Warning: The rebuild doesn't include Local Notebooks or unsync'd notes
