I tried to run the installer as admin. I also tried what is reported in this thread: but it doesn't do anything. Please help Thanks Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,652 Posted August 7, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted August 7, 2017 Hi. So what happens when you open or try to create the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Evernote ? While you keep trying to access the setup folder I'd also suggest you reach out to Support directly if you're a paying customer on https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new or tweet them if not via https://twitter.com/evernotehelps Link to comment
saito200 1
Hi, the directory you mention is created but when I try to access it i get an error message "[path to the folder] is not accessible. Access denied" No idea what is happening Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,652 Posted August 7, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted August 7, 2017 Windows 10 tends to be finicky about permissions on folders. If you log in as an Admin user you should be able to right click a folder and choose properties, which will get you this window - choose the Security tab - and then the Edit button, which gets you here. Note in both windows it says "permissions for SYSTEM" because that's the user highlighted above. Click on the Avatar which should have your user details and make sure all those 'Allow' permissions boxes are ticked... I don't know that this will fix your install issue mind - it's just a suggestion. If you have anyone nearby who's good with technical stuff then they may be able to tame your setup. Otherwise I'd wait for Support to get back to you and get their input - they will have more experience with Win 10 install issues. Link to comment
