Autocrop

Hey guys,

 

I've been using the camera to take pictures of documents on auto mode. I noticed that sometimes that somtimes it crops things properly and sometimes doesn't do it at all. I've tried to be steady but it just doesn't do it. Any reason why? For example I take a picture of a health ID card it crops it perfectly and then I took a picture of a different card and it just refuses to crop it.

On another note. What is the difference between saving the pictures as a document, picutre, coloured picture etc?

Difficult to know why the camera can't tell the difference,  but 'documents' are pictures with (what seems to be) extraneous edges cropped out,  and pictures are just that - your choice of content.  Getting the best light,  contrasting background and cultivating a steady hand - all useful skills.  All said and done you're asking an app to automatically edit a picture for you - results aren't guaranteed.  Occasionally you have to crop manually...
