How do I make this app work?

Other possible title: "How do I make this app suck less?"

I am running the latest version on an iPhone6. No beta software.  The experience was getting better but has since taken a nosedive. Extremely laggy response assuming it doesn't just crash. When it does respond, it seems to take a very long time to do anything.

Suggestions please!  I turned offline notebooks on thinking that might help, but it feels like they're always syncing and are never "done".

The download is very slow for offline notebooks.  
The download will complete eventually

The reason for using offline notebooks is to have offline access to your data
I'm not seeing any impact to device performance

Hi.  If you;re generally finding that things are working very slowly,  try uninstalling and restarting your device.  Then re-download and reinstall.  (This will remove all those offline notes you already downloaded though!)

Sometimes installations just go wrong - and a reinstall is as much teching as is possible on a mobile device.  If things are still rocky after that,  I'd suggest you reach out to Support directly if you're a paying customer on https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new or tweet them if not via https://twitter.com/evernotehelps
