JohnLongney 83
OT @gazumped, as long as Trooping the Colour is still shown on Germany's first TV channel (ARD - counterpart to the BBC) my hopes of a much watered down Brexit are kept alive Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 9,828 Posted June 16, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted June 16, 2017 Hi. Closest you can get to an 'undo' button - which is Ctrl-Z / Cmd-Z or 'shake' in other OS's - is to use the 'back' button to quit the note you were changing and hope you can get back to the original. Android, sadly, unlike all all other operating systems, does not have that function at all. There are (I believe) some apps which claim to add that feature, and some external keyboards (plus the iOS landscape keyboard) also have an 'undo' key. You'd have to search around for options - I have no personal experience. No clue whether Evernote have any plans to repair that omission, but as it's purely an Android issue and Evernote tends to concentrate on cross-platform issues I wouldn't think it's high priority. Maybe lots of clicks on the top left counter will convince them otherwise... Link to comment

With all due respect to the usually infallible @gazumped, it sounds like all that is needed is to use the Undo feature that current versions of Evernote for Android do possess. In a text note, tap the 3 stacked dots at the upper right of the screen to access the Evernote menu. The Undo option is at the bottom of the menu (you may have to scroll down to find it). This will undo most changes, including erasing a sentence. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 9,828 Posted June 16, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted June 16, 2017 I've never been more diplomatically called a dumbass (that last word may or may not translate via netnanny) - or more grateful for a timely correction. @Dave-in-Decatur is of course completely correct and I was off in a parallel universe or something for that last answer. Sorry folks - I'll actually look at my Android next time this sort of question comes up... Link to comment

Level 5 Dave-in-Decatur 2,272 Posted June 17, 2017 Level 5 Share Posted June 17, 2017 No problem, @gazumped. I don't suppose in your parallel universe you could copy and paste within Evernote for Android without corrupting the formatting? Or perhaps politicians were sane and believable? - GDR (Does anyone recognize GDR as "grin, duck, and run" anymore?) Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 9,828 Posted June 18, 2017 Level 5* Share Posted June 18, 2017 GDR is pretty much SOP at the moment here, as anywhere else. We had two national own goals in 'Brexit' and a chaotic (and still disputed) election, and things have been going downhill from there for a while. Although folks seem to pull together in a crisis, most of politicians have as much credibility as a shark-filled swimming pool and nine tenths of what I read seems to be made up as a 'joke' or to feed someone's personal prejudice - even if it is published by a 'serious' news outlet. I think I'll just stay in my quiet little parallel dimension for a while - the wifi signal isn't so good, but at least we have good weather over there... Link to comment
