(Archived) Using non supported scanner

Are there some tips, techniques, suggestions on how to scan documents (jpg) into evernote using some other software than what comes with the scanner?

I have an all in one HP printer/scanner. The software works but then I have to edit it, resample, and save to an EN watched folder.

I use Vuescan from www.hamrick.com with my HP all-in-one 6100 Officejet. Works well and you can specify all the scanning parameters plus the destination before scanning. The software supplied by HP isn't as versatile.
