In the notebook-settings Evernote for Mac allows me to set a notebook as offline-notebook, so I can prevent it from being synchronized. I would like to do the opposite: Not save the notebook on the Mac, but only offline, so the notes are only temporarily downloaded if needed, similar as on iPhone and iPad. Is this possible?

No this is currently not possible. There are several feature requests for this feature. But don't expect this to happen soon, these feature requests are already there for quite a while.

This is now available on the Windows client, so it's possible that it will be coming to the Mac client sometime as well. I don't know that for sure, btw, but it's the first time that this capability has been available on an Evernote desktop application, so stay tuned.

That sounds great, do you have a blogpost or something where they introduced this update to the windows client, @jefito?

Would be interesting to read what they said there.
