What platform? In Windows, you can clip a screenshot to the clipboard, so when you return focus to Evernote, you should be able to paste directly. Not as easy, but better than clipping into a separate note.

There's also the Evernote Helper
Just drag the screen grabs into your note

That's all very well but I want to be able to screen grab to a note I am already working on not a new one. Like @jefito says above "Capture Selection from Screen" right-click item would be handy if it were in Windows. Could be on Mac secondary(right) click too.
