Limitation on attachments

I am using basic evernote, and I have used drag and drop to attach Lotus notes email links to my note in Evernote, but seem to not be able to add any more all of a sudden.  

I can still add pdf's, other file types, etc. to the same and or different notes, but am unable to add additional Lotus notes email links. 

Are there any limitations on attachments of this particular kind?

Are more attachments permitted with plus or premium?

I found in some cases I had to do this in two steps

1. Drag to my desktop; an icon is created
2. Drag the icon to my note
