Images in shared links

Prior to the latest update (6.10) links shared via text used to grab the main picture from the article being clipped and display them in the text alongside the web link.  Now, there is only a generic green Evernote image to accompany the web link.  Was this done on purpose and, if so, can you go back to the way it was?

There's another thread around here somewhere where an Evernote employee has said this is a design choice.  A couple of people (including me) have already objected.  We're waiting to hear the details of that decision and to see if there's any leeway.

Is this related to the Mac platform?
