This has been requested before, but Evernote seem to believe that since desktop computers have their own security Evernote can be left open with the device locked, or can be shut down so that it requires a password (and maybe two-step verification) to open. That said, even with the computer and Evernote locked, the database on your hard drive can still be inspected by other SQLite software if it's accessed by someone else. For complete security use an encrypted partition. Link to comment
