Pictures Disappear in Duplicate Note

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to make a duplicate note so I can keep the original but change things in the duplicate.  After I duplicate it. It looks good for awhile and everything is there but I leave to go to another note, all my pictures disappear and never come back.  I've spent hours redoing my work once already and this is driving me crazy. Why are the pictures gone in the duplicate and how can I fix this?   Thanks

Can you identify your platform, and your method of duplicating a note?

I'm using Windows 10.  They are both JPG and PNG files from my own files that were added into the original note.. I first tried copy and pasting all but it happened doing that, so I  right clicked on the note and clicked duplicate note and they still disappeared.  They looked like they copied over but when I closed it and went back later they were gone.

Hmmn.  I've known for a while that Evernote doesn't like to have two copies of the same file in the same note - it will only load one copy (I assume to save space).  Whether that applies to pictures in different notes,  -and whether it's at all relevant here- I don't know.  I did duplicate a note with pictures yesterday and checked that it had all the pictures.  When I checked it again today... it still had all the pictures as complete duplicates of the originals.  So I don't know what to suggest,  other than try duplicating your note again - obviously don't do any important work on the duplicate,  just let the two notes hang out.  Check whether the image disappearance works for a second time.  If it does,  you might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the app - if you've been updating for a while since your last install,  maybe the updating didn't take so well at some point and left something important a little rocky.  You can also,  of course,  contact support directly if you can,  or message them on Twitter
