Sync failed due to unexpected behavior at client side

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Evernote failed to synchronize, until I deleted a notebook. Apparently (Google), there is a limit to the number of notebooks allowed (Premium subscription)? Can this limit be increased to a higher number? If not, I am forced to look for alternatives... :-(

Kind regards,

Michel

Hi.  There's a limit of 250 notebooks per account,  with no scope to increase that in one account.

I currently have 18 notebooks and 22,000 notes in 6 'stacks'.  It's pretty easy to 'save' one or more notebooks by selecting all notes in that group and adding the name of the notebook as a tag,  moving the notes to a default notebook.  (Most of my notes are in the default notebook.)  -Or to open another free account (needs a different email address) to gain another 250.

My rule of thumb is never to create a new notebook unless there's a specific need - as in temporary work in progress notes,  or notes shared  with others.

The User limits are documented here https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005247-What-are-the-system-limits-of-Evernote-

As @gazumped noted, the limit for personal accounts is 250 Notebooks.
Business accounts have different limits

You might consider using tags for organization.
You're allowed 100,000 per account with the additional benefits of unlimited hierarchy and multiple tags per note.
I also have minimal Notebooks, preferring to use Tags
