chuckkahn 1
Is the Web Clipper supposed to work when viewing a page with the Clearly extension? I tried highlighting some text and right clicking to clip the selected text to EN but the Web Clipper wasn't in the context menu. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 9,003 Posted December 29, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted December 29, 2016 Hi. Have you tried the 'simplified article' option in Clipper? It should be the same as Clearly. What version of Clipper do you have, and what OS/ device are you running? In Win10 and highlighting a paragraph in Clearly, I still have Evernote web clipper in the right-click menu. Link to comment

I can't find the Clearly version in its options. Where is it listed? Link to comment

Good question - Clearly in Windows was at 10.2.1 in 2015 before it was withdrawn Wouldn't know where to look on a Mac. The Clipper version shows up in my options - Windows Firefox. Maybe one of the Mac users around here can comment further... Link to comment

And when I click on Clearly and go to the Chrome extension page it isn't there! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/iooicodkiihhpojmmeghjclgihfjdjhj Ah, here's why: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/212952747-Discontinued-support-for-Clearly So I'm supposed to use Simplified Article option in Clipper? Hmmm. I thought that was for clipping a simplified article, not for mere viewing! Link to comment

Well, kinda - instead of highlighting and copying selected text you could clip the whole page and delete anything you don't need, or just abort the clip if the content turns out not to be interesting... If you are purely looking to read content more easily, there were various discussions when the app was discontinued... This app developer - http://readable.tastefulwords.com/ - was taken over by Evernote to create Clearly, but the original bookmarklet app apparently still survives. and see http://www.controlaltachieve.com/2016/01/clearly-alternatives.html And https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/enjoy-reading/?src=api (Not sure how Mac-friendly any of those are though...) Incidentally - if the simplified website copy is solely what interests you, try a read-it-later website called Instapaper - https://www.instapaper.com/ Link to comment
