(Archived) Request: Hiding thumbnails + nested folders

owengot@gmail.com

Idea

Is it possible to hide the thumbnails in the widescreen view (with the two pains side by side)? I mostly have text notes in evernote and so the small thumbnail is kind of redundant for my use. It would be nice to disable the thumbnails and just have the title and metadata information.

Also could we see nested folders soon? I really have too many notebooks now and it would help a lot if I could group them together (e.g. I have 'China', 'Japan' and 'France' notebooks which I would like to put in a general "Travel" folder). A lot of other notebook apps have nested folders and it only seems reasonable to add this feature..

Please search the board on the words tags, subfolders. There's plenty of discussion on how to use tags instead of subfolders. No need to rehash it all in yet another thread.

Good idea to check the Evernote blog posts, too. In a recent interview (http://blog.evernote.com/2010/04/27/thinkwasabi-interview-with-evernote-ceo-phil-libin/), the CEO discusses subfolders:

Subfolders are in big demand! The other day, we had users submit questions on our blog and I answered over 150 of them. Subfolders were probably the most requested feature. We had originally hoped that nested tags would be good enough, but it looks like people want more. We’re trying to design subfolders now (many people want them, but few agree on how they should work) and will decide on how this feature fits into our roadmap soon.
