blueberry 1
I am trying to remove the word "that" where appropriate in one of my notes. When I search for it, it gets highlighted. As soon as I click anywhere in the note to remove it, the search highlights go away. Clicking back in the search box does not re-apply the highlights, so I have to search again. This is really inefficient. What I imagine should happen instead is this: I search for a word, and it gets highlighted. Then, every instance of the word remains highlighted until I clear the search box, just like in Chrome. Is this a recent issue, or has search highlighting always been like that? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,652 Posted September 30, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted September 30, 2016 Hi. I can't speak to the past activity of the 'Find' process, but have you looked at "Find and Replace"? If you have that option it would greatly speed up finding 'that' and replacing with <blank> to remove the word... Link to comment
blueberry 1
Unfortunately, simply replacing it won't work. There is a number of cases where the sentence won't make any sense without it. Thank you for the suggestion, though! Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,652 Posted October 1, 2016 Level 5* Share Posted October 1, 2016 You're welcome. The replace option does allow you to choose which instances to leave, and which to replace - just choose 'Next' to skip, or Replace to do it... Link to comment
