#204911 Why do all my recipes become ugly/useless/broken after aprox. 10 min?

Posted Naomi on 10 May 2013 - 10:33 PM

Thanks for letting us know. Can you please tell me which recipe sites you clipped from? Is this happening to all of your recipes or just the ones from certain publisher(s)?

#204493 No Options/Settings Button in Android

Posted Naomi on 08 May 2013 - 03:36 PM

There are several entry points to sign in / create an account. You can register by:

- tapping the sync indicator at the bottom of the home screen

- via the Explore Recipes clipping flow

- or within the following sections: My Cookbook, My Meals, or Restaurants

Once you sign in / create an account, your overflow/options settings will appear.

#203525 how to tag recipe and shopping list for food?

Posted Naomi on 01 May 2013 - 03:40 PM

I tag "food" and "shopping" to the shopping list for food, and I tag "food" to the recipe

Then EN food just import all the recipe and shopping list into it, just because the tag "food" has been added to the shopping list, too.

Is there a better way to tag to avoid this?

Hi there - thanks for your post. Notes that we believe to be recipes display for you automatically in My Cookbook. If some were included that you would like to remove from Evernote Food, just tap the "edit" button on the note, and select "Hide".  This keeps the note in your Evernote account and just hides it from appearing in the Food app. Hope this helps!

#199718 Recipes from Evernote app not showing in My Cookbook

Posted Naomi on 08 April 2013 - 07:49 PM

I spent the entire weekend photographing and scanning old recipes. But, like everyone else, I am not able to access any of the PDFs in Evernote Food. Any update on the fix?

pdf support is on the way! We look forward to bringing you this feature soon.

#195332 can't load the camera roll when adding a meal

Posted Naomi on 14 March 2013 - 06:28 AM

Looks like your privacy settings need to be updated to let Food access your device's photos.

The following steps should help:

1.) Go to your device's Settings app
2.) Scroll down to find the "Privacy" option and select that
3.) Select "Photos"
4.) Make sure that the toggle for Food is set to "ON"
5.) Go back to your device homescreen and double-click the home button to kill the Food app --> a "drawer" of recent apps should appear at the bottom of the screen; swipe until you find the Evernote Food app icon
6.) Press and hold the Evernote Food icon until a red circle appears in the top left corner; tap it so the app icon disappears
7.) Press the home button to return to your homescreen and relaunch the Food app

#191365 Uploading A Meal to Facebook

Posted Naomi on 26 February 2013 - 04:29 PM

Hi All,

Just started using food, which I have had a while.

I thought I would see what happens when you upload to facebook.

It only seems to upload the photo you are currently looking at on the phone. Is this normal? Or should I be able to upload all the photos and my 'details/resume' on the restaurant?

I have also tried to upload from the Windows software and it does the same.

If you share by email it takes all photos and information.

Best regards

Chris

Sharing a meal to Facebook displays one image on your timeline to represent the meal, but clicking through to the meal itself jumps people to the web view where all of the meal images and details can be seen.

#188914 Add a section for Wines

Top of the list:

Regards

Chris

That link explains how to use EVERNOTE to keep notes on wine.

My feature request was for an enhancement to Evernote FOOD app to include a tab for wine.

Thanks..

Thanks for the request! There certainly are a lot of wine enthusiasts out there. We're always exploring ways to improve the app.

#185160 Product Suggestion: Add a "Restaurants I want to try" tab

Posted Naomi on 23 January 2013 - 09:44 PM

I keep a folders in Evernote for various in cities I may visit in the future - I'll clip interesting restaurants, sites to visit, and whatnot into those folders.

It would be neat if this could be done in Evernote Food where if, say, I'm in Brooklyn, I could ask Evernote Food if there are any restaurants nearby that I have stated I want to try.  You could also have it search for nearby restaurants that you've already tried and documented meals in.  (When you try a restaurant on your "try" list, it would automatically remove itself from the list as well.)

Great news - these features already exist in the iOS version and we're working on them for Android.

Check out this blog post on building a restaurant wish list in Evernote Food: http://blog.evernote...-evernote-food/

Within the Restaurant section you can:
- clip restaurants you want to try from the "Explore" tab
- the places to try are kept for you in the "Saved" tab (a note for the restaurant is also synced to Evernote)
- places where you have already created a meal appear in the "My Meals" tab

Enjoy!

Thanks for the note.  We are looking into it.

#181923 Want to switch to Evernote Food, but serious shortcomings make me hesitate

Posted Naomi on 07 January 2013 - 06:13 AM

Thanks for the ideas.

I'll see what we can do to "recognize" your missing recipes within Evernote Food.
Do you mind sending me links to some of the recipes that aren't showing up? If not, please email to food-bugs@evernote.com

When you search for recipes on the iPad version, the matches from your Cookbook section appear above the ones from the web (in the Explore section).
You can also tap the section you are interested in directly from the header on the search results page (on the right hand side, in blue) and the app will jump you straight to results from that section.

The 2.0 version is just a start and there is more to come - stay tuned!

#174379 Export information in some sort of format

Posted Naomi on 03 December 2012 - 12:26 AM

Glad to hear you're loving the app!

You can share links to individual meals.  These are the links that the app creates when sharing meals via facebook or twitter.  To get the link to put elsewhere without sharing to facebook or twitter, go to the main evernote client (desktop/web) and view the share options for individual meals for the Share URL.  Another option from the main client is to make your Evernote Food notebook public and share that link.  Put all the meals that you want publicly visible into that notebook and distribute the link however/wherever you wish.

Hope this helps.

#149062 Sync Bug 1.2.1

Posted Naomi on 11 July 2012 - 09:36 PM

Issue has been resolved, so I am closing this thread.  The user edited the meal that wasn't syncing and it then synced successfully.

#145582 Bug in Android App, too?

Posted Naomi on 18 June 2012 - 04:53 PM

Thanks for reporting your issue - we'll dig in to see what the problem is.

Can you please follow these steps below, so we can get a log from your device for better troubleshooting?

1.) Create a new meal (just a test one is fine) with 1 image and no other information
2.) Tap the "up" button to go back to the Meals list
3.) Check to see if the meal syncs automatically (you should see toasts notifying you of the sync status and the "pending sync" design should animate and disappear)
4.) If the meal doesn't sync automatically, tap the overflow menu and select "Sync" from the list of options
5.) Check again to see if the meal syncs  (again, you should see toasts notifying you of the sync status and the "pending sync" design should animate and disappear)
6.) If the meal still doesn't sync please tap the overflow menu again and select "Settings" from the list of options
7.) Tap "Support"
8.) Tap "Send log"
9.) Email the log to "food-bugs@evernote.com"

Thank you!
