  1. After this post - the replies moved towards the mobile questions. I want to follow-up to the main point of the post, that the Windows version - seems to be stable. Do others feel this way? Are we really getting there? Are we there ? Trying to see if there is a semi-critical mass in that direction. This is a question about Windows client only, or even windows on Browser Thanks
  2. @10gallonhat Bless you - I know it took a lot of effort to break it down - but I and I am sure others appreciate it. Do you guys think it is worth it to make a new Thread about methods of migrating away from Evernote? So we can focus on that? OR has this thread De-facto become that .
  3. Thank you both @CalSand @DTLow. I may be in touch when I actually start making this move as it sounds like I may have some things to learn. The guy who builds a 1 click tool for this export - would do pretty well
  4. A few things. My story is the same as most on the forum. Currently using Legacy on windows till I can't any more. Have stopped using on Android. Really shocked that Evernote keeps declaring victory and adding small little features , at the time we seem to be suffering. Maybe we aren't 1% maybe we are .01% Are there other places and forums of people with these issues? Or is this group the people with larger Evernote DBs all find this thread and we really are just a small group, with thousands of other people with 50,000 notes quite happy on 10? ------------------------------------------------- I have read this thread and lots of discussion in terms of alternatives. Before alternatives, now that I learned my lesson with proprietary formats, what is the best way to export notes and more importantly attachments in a clean and simple way. And I need the attachments linked to the note - or at least sharing the name of the notes. Any clean solution for this? --------- Evernote really has over the last few year become more of a file folder app for me. For scanning bills, receipts, instructions. Forwarding all of my electronic bills etc. It has become less an active tool, and more an online storage DB. The productivity space (todoist, asana, clickup) seem to have become my goto for clipper and forwarding of actionable things (like my Rocketbook) Maybe when I look for a replacement I will focus more on the storage/file center space. ------------ Over all I am just really sad. I still remember Phil Libin talking about the 100 year company.
  5. A few things seems a bit weird in the Post/Apology, which does not really seem to be an apology but rather a "Most people like it better, You should have just kept the old version, only some users have problems" post (A) We believed this was the right path because Mac and Windows users dependent on missing features could continue to use (and reinstall if necessary) their legacy Evernote Mac or Windows client. 1. You think an acceptable option is to not use the new product, but stay with the old one? 2. You assumed that people would have known that that is what you wanted them to do? That was part of your plan? (B) Our most advanced power users our most intensive customers set proper expectations with our power users our most intensive users 1. It gives the impression that the problems are only happening to only a few fringe people who use the product in some insane ways (C) met the needs of 90 percent of our customers 1. 10% is a lot of customers to be willing to have unhappy 2. Is everything fine for 90% of the users? 3. Is everything fine for 90% of Paying users? 4. Is there a "number" of notes after which the performance has the crazy drop. Maybe 17,000 notes is a lot - but I just checked and I have been using Evernote for over 11.5 years, so I am not sure if that is unreasonable. One other thing sort of bothers me, although he mentions performance, it is not really emphasized in away I would expect. This is not a 10% slowdown, this is a "your product has become unusable" Holy Cow performance issue. Well Like many of us here, my problem is I am too deeply invested to just switch to another option without a lot of work and changing my workflow, so I will sit with my old version and hope for the best. (reading that above line sounds exactly where I feel I am with the new "Haha it is not free any more" Google Photos move.) Cheers! (RavBoy - sorry I repeated stuff you said I was in Edit mode and did not see yours till I put my post up )
  6. Well they seem to be quite calm about the issue. I'd love to hear - yes we are noticing crazy slowness and acknowledge it is a bug and are working diligently on it now before we lose our core users (paid core users at that)
  7. Besides the speed that is killing me. I am going crazy because of; search results defaulting to relevant - not by day last modified, did not find a way to change the default. not having a folder where I can put files and have them imported into Evernote. Really hoping these get fixed. I like the Evernote said they want to work on their "core" - but nothing more core than performance.
  8. Not sure is +1 will help - but this is something I see coming very soon. I am imagining an SSD super light laptop with only 64GB of disk space - I currently am in trouble on a 250 GB LT
