#171804 ✔ Where's the back button?

Geschrieben mdalves am 22 November 2012 - 11:47

Thanks everyone for your feedback on this. Cannot promise anything but we are looking at adding this feature back along with other features we did not have time to add in the current release.

No time ? Don´t release it. Simple as that for me.

#140342 Evernote for Android 4.0 is now live on Google Play

Geschrieben mdalves am 18 Mai 2012 - 05:47

I didn't like the new interface also, but what's really pissing me off is the sweeping when I'm reading a note. I just want to scroll the note up or down, but it always swipe to the left, and the left part of the text is lost; when I try to pull the text back, Evernote swipes to the home screen; it's so irritating that I stopped using Evernote in my android phone.
If anyone can tell me how to downgrade to previous version, I'd be grateful.

#138672 QUERY: 100 years is a long journey, Evernote, but where are you going?

Geschrieben mdalves am 10 Mai 2012 - 03:36

As an employee in a company mentioned in the original post, I'd like to say that yes - we do hear our customers; but of course not all demands can be supported; resources are limited and what's good for a customer may compromise usability for other customers - it's always a hard choice; my opinion is that Evernote is doing a good job in working side-by-side with us - their customers.
I've tried and abandoned many other products and services just because I didn't rely on their long term strategies (or lack of strategy at all), that's not the case with Evernote. I may not fall in love with all their desktop/mobile clients and may miss some features I'd like to have, but I'm happy to be a premium user and support their development.

#138666 Can evernote android work offline? or will it ?

Geschrieben mdalves am 10 Mai 2012 - 03:16

I am a premium user and I've selected some notebooks to be downloaded to my cell phone and android tablet, for offline access. Any update or new note I create while offilne are synced to Evernote and I'm back online.

#132377 Social Folders

Evernote's ads are the only ones that I am interested in seeing - well-targeted ads aren't annoying :)

I've disabled the Evernote ads but it's interesting that everytime I log into Evernote (Windows) it spend some time sync'ing the ads that I will never see.

#131168 Book "Hacking Work"

Geschrieben mdalves am 26 Mrz 2012 - 01:57

I have just read a summary of the book "Hacking Work - Breaking Stupid Rules for Smart Results", by Bill Jensen and Josh Klein and it seems to me that Evernote is the perfect tool for the "benevolent hackers", described by Jensen and Klein as those who are ethically hacking the system to make their work better, more productive, cheaper and fun. A nice statement from the book is that "information is the object of every benevolent hack because it has the power to change your life" - they're describing Evernote main value, aren't they ?

My advice is to use an appropriate tool, as LastPass.

#129739 Synchronize changes on exit -- How is this supposed to work?

Geschrieben mdalves am 15 Mrz 2012 - 12:07

"Sync on exit" works fine when exiting Evernote (File / Exit) but does not work when just signing out (Tools / Sign Out). I did quick updates in some notes using my wife's computer some days ago and then signed out; now I'm using my own laptop and don't have those updated notes.
Sync on exit should be expanded to "Sync on exit or sign out".
